Voice Mail Service with Remote Login Feature

 

PTCL is pleased to bring you Voice Mail Service with an additional and more innovative feature of REMOTE LOGIN. Previously you could only retrieve your voice messages by dialing 1277 from the number on which VMS was subscribed. With this new feature of Remote Login, you can receive your voice messages from any landline and mobile within the country or internationally, just by dialing 1277 followed by a four digit pin code of your mailbox.

Voice Mail Service that works all of the time - even when there is a power outage and your answer machine stops working. Your voice mailbox can be accessed 24 hour a day, 7 days a week. You will never miss important calls again! Now you can take messages even when you're away from your home.
PTCL has extended its Voice Mail Service to 38 cities and its all free.

When you do not pick/answer your phone then after pre-selected number of ringers, the call is automatically directed to your mailbox. Therefore, you are not disturbed even if you are at home but are busy in social engagements. Messages can be left for you or picked up by you anytime, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Therefore, now you have the freedom to retrieve your messages whenever you like to do so.

Your mailbox is maintained on PTCL’s network – free of charge for you. Your callers can now leave messages even if there was a thunderstorm and your electricity and phones were out.

  • From landline , directly dial 1277 and follow the IVR
  • From abroad, dial +921277 and follow the IVR

A. Voice mail service means a voice messaging system that allow customers to automatically send unanswered calls to a voice messaging mail box for the recording of messages by callers.

 Q2. What is Remote Login service?
A. It is an additional feature of VMS which allows a VMS subscriber to check his/her deposited messages from anywhere he/she wants.

Q3. How can I acquire Voice Mail Service with remote login feature?
A. By calling PTCL helpline 1236, you can subscribe for this service if not already installed.

Q4. How can I deactivate this Voice Mail Service?
A.
You can dial #06# from your own phone or by calling 1236 helpline.

Q5. How can I get VMS service with remote login?
A. Remote login feature has been activated on all the existing numbers and will be applicable on all new orders as well.

Q6. Can I deactivate the remote login from the number while VMS is intact?
A. No. this feature will be offered with VMS.

Q7. Can I activate or deactivate the remote login feature through the Phone Set?
A. No. This service can be activated or deactivated by calling at 1236 Helpline.

Q8. For how long my messages will be stored in mail box?
A.
Messages will remain in mail box up to 7 days.

Q9. Will each individual message remain active for 7 days? If there are more than one message recorded at different timings, will the message beyond 7 days  will be erased automatically?
A. Yes each individual message will remain active for 7 days; if more than one message is recorded at different times then in that case the messages beyond 7days will be erased automatically.

Q10. What will be the length of message recorded?
A.
The maximum length of a message you can record is 30 seconds.

Q11. Can I delete message on my phone without listening? Will I be charged?
A. No. You will not be charged for anything.

Q12. Can I retrieve messages from other phones and cities? How?
A. Yes.
You can retrieve your messages from anywhere locally or internationally just by dialing 1277 code from your phone set/Mobile.

Q13. How much I will be charged if I retrieve from other cities?
A
. Message retrieval is free of charge at the moment.

Q14. What about secrecy of Voice Mail Service mail box?
A.
Special password/Pin no will be allotted to customer for each mail box.

Q15. How much I will be charged for retrieving my message?
A.
Message retrieval is free of charge at the moment.

Q16. What are the charges of recording a voice message?
A. None.

Q17. If a Caller chooses to disconnect the call after listening to greetings, will he be charged? Will he be charged also if he does not record his message after the prompt tone?
A. Yes, because technical systems take that as completed call.

Q18. Where the customer should lodge complaint regarding VMS problems?
A. The complaints will be lodged on PTCL helpline #1236

Q19. Do I have to go to a customer call centre to register a complaint?
A. You do not need to go anywhere to lodge your complaint. You can call PTCL’s Contact Center 24 hours a day and seven days a week at 1236 and can register your complaint.

Q20. Do I need any special equipment to use this service?
A. No.

Q21. How many callers can dial my mail box at the same time?
A. Only one can call your mailbox at any given time.

Q22. How to record or change personal greetings?
1. Access your mailbox by dialing 1277
2. Press 3 to go to Greetings menu.

Q23. How to change Mail box password?
1. Access your mailbox by dialing 1277
2. Press 0 to go to Mailbox setting menu
3. Press 4, then 3 and finally 1 to enter your new password.

Q24 How many personal greetings can I store in my voicemail?
A. Only one.

Q25. I want to play a message that is 8 minutes long, but your extensions only allow for 5 minutes, can you increase it to 8 minutes for me?
A
. No, the size of your mailbox cannot be longer than 5 minutes for now.

Q26. Can I download a greeting that someone else is using?
A. No.

Q27. Sometimes it takes the system long time to play my first new message. How can I prevent this?
A.
You can prevent system delays by deleting unnecessary messages from your mailbox.

Q28. Do I have to listen to all the options before I make my selection from a menu?
A. No.
You can press an option key at any time; you do not have to wait for the system to announce the entire menu options.

Q29. I received the following message: “Sorry, access to your mailbox has been restricted. Please contact customer service to re-establish access to your services. Thank you.” How do I get back into my mailbox?

. PTCL’s Call Center may be contacted by calling 1236 - to reactivate your mailbox.
